Each year, the slow-paced lifestyle on Mexico’s largest desert in Baja Peninsula is given a turbo boost by the Baja 1000, the largest off-road motorsport race in the world that takes place crossing the Mexican-US border.
In this modern-day western, José Permar tells a unique story about the border, complete with a commissioned soundtrack of epic corridos performed by a trio of colorful musicians.
The documentary follows Rigo, Davis, and Paco, three fans of this mechanical saga. They are looking for an opportunity to be a part of the race and escape the apparent monotony of their small communities. In their journey, the three men will find something more important than the race itself. They will discover their identity, pride, and sense of belonging to their hometowns.
"Off the Road is not a documentary about an epic sport. It is, from beginning to end, a tale of the local heroes whose lives are unavoidably affected by Baja 1000." — Rebecca Wilson, Sounds and Colours
"Mexican filmmaker José Permar takes a shoestring budget and makes an ingenious and cinematic western style documentary set in the bone dry beauty of Mexico's largest desert region, The Baja. This is a story about a race, a group of musicians and a community clinging to both in order to survive." — Meredith Taylor, Filmuforia

00:01:08.250 --> 00:01:12.125
I want to tell you the story
00:01:12.583 --> 00:01:16.958
of this hidden place
00:01:17.333 --> 00:01:20.666
where the sun hits the hardest
00:01:20.666 --> 00:01:25.625
and the wind blows silently.
00:01:25.625 --> 00:01:29.791
Only the silence is witness
00:01:29.791 --> 00:01:34.666
on this side of the road.
00:01:35.291 --> 00:01:38.708
About a thousand people live here.
00:01:38.708 --> 00:01:42.708
Approximately.
00:01:45.583 --> 00:01:47.625
People have come here
00:01:47.625 --> 00:01:50.208
telling us we live too far from society.
00:01:50.208 --> 00:01:52.625
To give you an example...
00:01:52.625 --> 00:01:55.958
some people struggle
to get phone reception.
00:01:56.208 --> 00:01:58.916
My sister planted that tree
00:01:58.916 --> 00:02:03.166
because you get
WhatsApp and Facebook there.
00:02:03.166 --> 00:02:05.125
What else would you need?
00:02:07.666 --> 00:02:09.625
- Kill deers...
- Kill hares...
00:02:09.625 --> 00:02:11.708
Kill rabbits.
00:02:12.333 --> 00:02:15.250
Snakes. Lizards.
- Yes, snakes.
00:02:16.916 --> 00:02:18.875
He's gonna kill people, he's a hitman.
00:02:28.500 --> 00:02:31.958
We hang out here most of the time.
00:02:31.958 --> 00:02:35.625
We help with chores and
tend to the animals,
00:02:35.625 --> 00:02:37.958
or jam with the instruments.
00:02:37.958 --> 00:02:40.125
- That's how we started.
00:02:40.125 --> 00:02:41.583
Like others
00:02:41.583 --> 00:02:44.333
we were bored and
without much to do.
00:02:44.666 --> 00:02:46.208
We kept at it.
00:02:46.208 --> 00:02:49.041
And now compose about local people.
00:02:49.750 --> 00:02:52.791
Our songs can't be about just anyone.
00:02:52.791 --> 00:02:56.041
They're about important people.
00:02:56.041 --> 00:02:59.833
People with a story,
with something to tell.
00:03:00.125 --> 00:03:02.666
- Corrido songs depict
extraordinary people.
00:03:02.666 --> 00:03:04.458
- That's it.
00:03:11.958 --> 00:03:16.208
I want to know what lies beyond,
00:03:16.208 --> 00:03:20.041
far off these mountains and valleys.
00:03:20.458 --> 00:03:23.666
How does it feel to be someone
00:03:24.166 --> 00:03:28.041
and journey beyond this town?
00:03:28.041 --> 00:03:31.458
I want to leave a trace
00:03:32.416 --> 00:03:36.333
that doesn't fade away in the sand.
00:04:06.166 --> 00:04:07.958
There were clubs...
00:04:08.041 --> 00:04:09.250
bars...
00:04:09.583 --> 00:04:11.208
cinemas.
00:04:11.208 --> 00:04:12.583
Fancy stuff!
00:04:12.583 --> 00:04:14.833
This place was loaded.
00:04:17.250 --> 00:04:22.416
because people left, given the economical situation.
00:04:23.041 --> 00:04:25.250
Everything closed.
00:04:42.833 --> 00:04:45.166
Look, here's a note.
00:04:45.541 --> 00:04:49.666
"Shared Society for the
Consumption of United Farmers".
00:04:49.666 --> 00:04:50.708
Look.
00:04:51.333 --> 00:04:52.666
That's what they called it at the time.
00:04:55.541 --> 00:04:57.500
Only the trash remained.
00:05:02.500 --> 00:05:06.833
We saw the first screening
of a Baja 1000 film here.
00:05:07.166 --> 00:05:08.875
In this theatre.
00:05:09.291 --> 00:05:12.375
It was around 1985,
00:05:12.958 --> 00:05:16.708
when the race made it
to the silver screen.
00:05:17.125 --> 00:05:19.708
At least the first one we had seen.
00:05:20.166 --> 00:05:23.916
Starring pioneers.
00:05:24.375 --> 00:05:28.333
The icons of the race's 1966 beginnings.
00:05:29.125 --> 00:05:30.958
I was only six.
00:05:31.750 --> 00:05:34.250
Six years... It raced by right there,
00:05:34.750 --> 00:05:36.166
driving off into the road.
00:06:23.833 --> 00:06:26.125
When there's a Baja,
for three days this town goes
00:06:26.125 --> 00:06:30.208
from ten-households
to 300 to 500 people.
00:06:31.500 --> 00:06:33.708
The town freezes.
00:06:34.708 --> 00:06:37.708
It becomes the most sought-after spectacle.
00:06:41.375 --> 00:06:43.625
The Baja 1000 is the biggest race
00:06:43.625 --> 00:06:47.333
because it's the longest desert race.
00:06:48.333 --> 00:06:52.000
The challenge is to race over 1,000 miles.
00:07:00.541 --> 00:07:02.541
It's the world's longest race.
00:07:07.000 --> 00:07:08.458
You step into a different world.
00:07:51.166 --> 00:07:53.750
I found the Toyotin
00:07:53.750 --> 00:07:55.541
underneath a tree.
00:07:56.958 --> 00:07:59.291
It was disassembled,
00:07:59.750 --> 00:08:02.000
and it was cheap.
00:08:03.333 --> 00:08:08.208
It was supposed to help with
our hardware store.
00:08:08.208 --> 00:08:09.708
- Oh man...
00:08:09.958 --> 00:08:11.083
- Did you get fat?
- Yeah.
00:08:11.083 --> 00:08:12.791
- Me too!
00:08:14.875 --> 00:08:16.791
Little by little it transformed,
00:08:16.791 --> 00:08:18.833
adding a part here and there.
00:08:19.916 --> 00:08:23.375
We're looking for ways to rebuild it.
00:08:24.166 --> 00:08:26.166
So we can race.
00:08:29.333 --> 00:08:30.875
- Darn it.
00:08:35.416 --> 00:08:37.916
That's the Baja for that year.
00:08:38.916 --> 00:08:42.833
Rob Mac won, didn't he?
00:08:42.833 --> 00:08:45.000
- I think he did.
00:08:52.750 --> 00:08:54.875
- There's the helicopter.
00:08:59.916 --> 00:09:03.125
- That video is so cool.
00:09:05.916 --> 00:09:09.083
- There are people there.
- Huh?
00:09:09.083 --> 00:09:11.000
- A lot of people!
00:09:11.000 --> 00:09:13.750
- This guy is a super pilot.
00:09:13.750 --> 00:09:17.666
- He's been racing for years.
00:09:17.666 --> 00:09:21.625
- Dad, what does the Toyotin
need to race in a Baja 1000?
00:09:21.625 --> 00:09:23.791
- Many things...
- Besides a new car.
00:09:23.791 --> 00:09:25.291
- Damn...
00:09:25.291 --> 00:09:29.291
- A lot... New pipes,
00:09:29.291 --> 00:09:31.708
seats...
00:09:31.708 --> 00:09:34.166
- A lot more investment.
- Way more.
00:09:34.958 --> 00:09:37.500
- The registration...
00:09:37.500 --> 00:09:39.291
3, 800 dollars.
00:09:39.291 --> 00:09:41.416
- The car is sturdy.
00:09:41.416 --> 00:09:44.291
But needs safety features.
Memberships, insurance...
00:09:44.291 --> 00:09:47.666
- Never stop dreaming.
You can race a Baja 1000.
00:09:47.666 --> 00:09:49.000
One day...
00:09:52.208 --> 00:09:54.041
Good afternoon!
00:09:54.041 --> 00:09:56.208
- I need a padlock.
00:09:56.208 --> 00:09:57.125
- Small or large?
00:09:57.125 --> 00:10:01.791
ELECTRICS, PLUMBING AND HARDWARE STORE
00:11:01.625 --> 00:11:04.708
The Baja desert
00:11:04.708 --> 00:11:07.000
has its own legend.
00:11:07.958 --> 00:11:10.458
They say that sometime in November
00:11:10.458 --> 00:11:14.375
the calm goes away.
00:11:21.583 --> 00:11:24.791
A fight between the silence
00:11:24.791 --> 00:11:27.291
and the roaring of engines
00:11:28.000 --> 00:11:30.375
captivate these three men,
00:11:30.375 --> 00:11:33.958
and inject them with adrenaline.
00:11:38.375 --> 00:11:40.750
They want to be part of the race.
00:11:41.666 --> 00:11:43.875
They want to be recognized
00:11:43.875 --> 00:11:48.625
as the Great Race's heroes.
00:11:52.333 --> 00:11:54.458
A light on the road,
00:11:55.166 --> 00:11:57.750
they believe now is the time
00:11:57.750 --> 00:12:01.375
to change their destiny.
00:12:05.875 --> 00:12:09.083
A famous race
00:12:09.083 --> 00:12:12.250
that starts in Ensenada.
00:12:12.791 --> 00:12:15.250
They see it pass by
00:12:15.958 --> 00:12:18.750
and dream of conquering it.
00:12:20.125 --> 00:12:22.125
Be a part of its history
00:12:23.416 --> 00:12:25.583
and have a taste of glory.
00:12:26.500 --> 00:12:29.708
This corrido is pure action,
00:12:29.708 --> 00:12:33.750
adrenaline and victory.
00:12:39.750 --> 00:12:44.250
357 DAYS TO THE BAJA 1000
00:12:45.916 --> 00:12:52.208
During the Baja 1000
this street lights up.
00:12:52.208 --> 00:12:56.375
It has no power.
00:12:56.375 --> 00:13:01.875
But that day it does,
due to the amount of visitors.
00:13:02.458 --> 00:13:05.750
The race cars arrive from the North,
00:13:05.750 --> 00:13:07.625
from over there.
00:13:07.625 --> 00:13:10.041
They cross the village,
00:13:10.041 --> 00:13:12.333
and turn to San Juanico,
00:13:12.333 --> 00:13:16.500
racing through those curves and hills.
00:13:16.791 --> 00:13:19.000
It's beautiful.
00:13:19.416 --> 00:13:23.083
Out of nowhere the cars race by.
00:13:23.083 --> 00:13:27.875
We wait on the other side...
00:13:27.875 --> 00:13:30.166
Some cars fly by furiously.
00:13:34.625 --> 00:13:36.666
You first see one car,
00:13:36.666 --> 00:13:39.708
then another one meter away.
Then another.
00:13:39.708 --> 00:13:41.541
As if this was a major city.
00:13:41.541 --> 00:13:43.666
Everything illuminated, with light bulbs.
00:13:43.666 --> 00:13:45.916
People bring their own generators.
00:13:46.750 --> 00:13:50.333
Bonfires are lit.
00:13:50.333 --> 00:13:52.875
People gather wood,
00:13:52.875 --> 00:13:55.500
make a bonfire and grill meat.
00:13:55.500 --> 00:13:56.916
A lot of meat.
00:13:57.833 --> 00:14:01.583
Helicopters pass by.
00:14:01.583 --> 00:14:05.125
They cover the sky during the race.
00:14:06.375 --> 00:14:08.666
There are many Americans.
00:14:08.666 --> 00:14:10.541
They arrive a week before the race starts.
00:14:14.625 --> 00:14:16.666
This was at the Palma Seca Race.
00:14:18.250 --> 00:14:19.916
I jumped off a ramp once.
00:14:19.916 --> 00:14:22.500
- Where you driving there or me?
- Me of course!
00:14:26.125 --> 00:14:28.041
Look!
00:14:28.041 --> 00:14:31.666
This is us at t the opening
of the race, remember?
00:14:31.666 --> 00:14:33.125
- This picture has history.
00:14:33.541 --> 00:14:35.750
- Here's our Cabrilla again.
00:14:35.750 --> 00:14:38.875
- Cabrilla at The Valle Racing.
00:14:39.583 --> 00:14:40.875
- Look.
00:14:40.875 --> 00:14:43.458
- Is this Juan Peralta?
- Of course!
00:14:44.291 --> 00:14:46.375
- Here's my dear friend...
00:14:46.375 --> 00:14:49.041
Carvallo. Raton Carvallo.
- Raton Carvallo.
00:14:49.041 --> 00:14:49.958
Great guy.
00:14:50.958 --> 00:14:53.291
The Cabrilla was a Beetle.
00:14:53.291 --> 00:14:54.958
It was unbelievably fast.
00:14:54.958 --> 00:14:57.291
- It gave us so much trouble!
00:15:13.125 --> 00:15:15.958
This was filled with packs of cotton.
00:15:16.958 --> 00:15:19.041
I used to come here with my dad
00:15:19.916 --> 00:15:22.916
during the town's golden years.
00:15:22.916 --> 00:15:25.791
The bus would arrive here,
the scale was there.
00:15:25.791 --> 00:15:30.083
A guy weighted the cotton here.
00:15:30.083 --> 00:15:31.875
You'd think it didn't weight much.
00:15:31.875 --> 00:15:34.208
Five or ten tons of cotton...
00:15:34.208 --> 00:15:35.541
that's something.
00:15:35.541 --> 00:15:37.166
Then everything left on a ship
00:15:38.208 --> 00:15:39.916
to all over the world.
00:15:40.791 --> 00:15:44.166
Before synthetic fabrics became trendy,
00:15:44.166 --> 00:15:46.166
cotton ruled.
00:15:46.166 --> 00:15:48.166
It was Santo Domingo Valley's
00:15:48.166 --> 00:15:50.375
'White Gold'.
00:15:51.791 --> 00:15:54.000
And so it is.
00:15:58.958 --> 00:16:00.833
There where no jobs.
The economy entered a crisis.
00:16:00.833 --> 00:16:03.083
Everything closed.
Who could afford that?
00:16:05.416 --> 00:16:07.250
- Dani, have you seen a sill?
00:16:07.250 --> 00:16:08.916
- A what?
- Found it.
00:16:19.750 --> 00:16:23.458
A third place prize from 2011.
00:16:23.458 --> 00:16:26.583
At a local race.
00:16:28.333 --> 00:16:30.375
This is from 2015,
00:16:30.500 --> 00:16:31.958
and 2016.
00:16:32.541 --> 00:16:34.666
Rigo has only raced locally.
00:16:38.041 --> 00:16:39.666
- Mom!
- Yes?
00:16:39.666 --> 00:16:41.708
- Padlocks are $30?
00:16:42.458 --> 00:16:43.666
- Let me handle this client.
00:16:47.125 --> 00:16:49.833
- $20 change.
- Have a good afternoon.
00:16:50.833 --> 00:16:53.791
Here's the last one, from last year.
00:16:55.000 --> 00:16:56.708
Those are Dani's trophies.
00:16:56.916 --> 00:16:59.791
She was one belt away from black belt.
00:16:59.791 --> 00:17:02.833
She's great at karate,
knows how to give a good fight.
00:17:10.791 --> 00:17:12.583
Here's the remote.
00:17:18.833 --> 00:17:20.916
Wait.
00:17:28.875 --> 00:17:29.875
Wait.
00:17:46.291 --> 00:17:50.250
Welcome to our local race Coyote 300,
00:17:50.250 --> 00:17:52.791
in its 23rd edition.
00:17:52.791 --> 00:17:56.708
Part of Baja California Sur's
local off road championship.
00:17:56.708 --> 00:18:01.083
We're ready to start!
00:18:13.791 --> 00:18:17.166
The cars start their engines
00:18:17.166 --> 00:18:20.958
in this the 23rd Coyote 300.
00:18:25.375 --> 00:18:28.666
Local races excite the people.
00:18:28.666 --> 00:18:32.583
But at the Baja 1000
00:18:32.916 --> 00:18:37.666
you realize that no
other race compares to it.
00:18:38.500 --> 00:18:42.541
You will only know how the Baja feels
once you've been there.
00:19:04.625 --> 00:19:05.916
- Dani...
00:19:08.958 --> 00:19:10.708
Why so much, Daniela?
00:19:11.916 --> 00:19:13.333
You flirt!
00:19:14.708 --> 00:19:17.875
Visit Cocos El Güero
00:19:17.875 --> 00:19:20.500
to buy sandwiches and empanadas,
00:19:20.500 --> 00:19:23.041
everything to fill your stomach.
00:19:23.041 --> 00:19:25.666
Soda, water, drinks...
00:19:25.666 --> 00:19:28.583
to survive the summer heat.
00:19:28.583 --> 00:19:31.500
All you need in
this Coyote 300
00:19:31.500 --> 00:19:34.416
Look no further!
00:19:35.458 --> 00:19:39.291
- Is that a normal car?
What the fuck?!
00:19:46.375 --> 00:19:49.875
I'll check them.
00:20:16.041 --> 00:20:17.625
Car!
00:20:45.708 --> 00:20:48.500
Good afternoon everyone.
00:20:48.500 --> 00:20:51.875
We're on the high part of the
road to El Saltito.
00:20:52.375 --> 00:20:57.500
You can see a lot of the race.
00:20:57.500 --> 00:21:00.208
Around 6 or 7 kms.
00:21:02.291 --> 00:21:06.583
I hope we have nice weather and wind,
00:21:06.583 --> 00:21:11.083
because it will get very hot
in some parts of the desert.
00:21:11.083 --> 00:21:13.833
And many will suffer
from the heat.
00:21:16.000 --> 00:21:17.208
Quick...
00:21:17.208 --> 00:21:20.250
Here's the powerful Toyotin!
00:21:20.250 --> 00:21:23.625
Rigoberto Castro Cosio, rising pilot
00:21:23.625 --> 00:21:26.666
of the Sportsman Truck category 14!
00:21:28.416 --> 00:21:32.333
With his daughter Daniela Castro, copilot.
00:21:32.333 --> 00:21:37.708
Trying to win the Championship
like he did in 2016.
00:22:03.875 --> 00:22:06.583
Attention: Juan Martin's
parents. Your kid is with us.
00:22:06.583 --> 00:22:10.083
He is scared because
he can't find you.
00:22:10.083 --> 00:22:13.875
He got distracted watching the race.
00:22:13.875 --> 00:22:17.750
Kids please don't loose your parents.
00:22:30.875 --> 00:22:32.291
Move to this side, please.
00:22:32.291 --> 00:22:35.625
- Let me ask him something.
00:22:35.625 --> 00:22:37.666
- Just one minute.
- Okay.
00:22:37.666 --> 00:22:39.625
- Güero! Have you seen the Toyotin?
00:22:40.250 --> 00:22:41.708
No?
00:22:42.958 --> 00:22:45.791
I can't find him anywhere.
00:22:45.791 --> 00:22:48.750
They stoped for gas.
I lost track of them after that.
00:22:56.583 --> 00:23:00.375
I can't get a hold of him.
00:23:02.333 --> 00:23:05.916
My brother is waiting for
him at the 38 km.
00:23:05.916 --> 00:23:08.083
But five cars have passed by already.
00:23:24.125 --> 00:23:26.458
Copy that.
00:23:28.375 --> 00:23:32.041
My brother left la Conquista,
he is now at the 38 km.
00:23:32.833 --> 00:23:34.375
He hasn't seen Rigo.
00:23:51.083 --> 00:23:53.541
I'm loosing my nerves.
00:24:16.750 --> 00:24:19.041
That's not him.
00:24:22.250 --> 00:24:25.958
7 pm, the finish line is closed!
00:24:25.958 --> 00:24:28.291
The race is over.
00:24:28.291 --> 00:24:34.125
The Coyote 300 of 2017 is officially over.
00:24:34.125 --> 00:24:39.166
Congratulations to everybody
who made it to the finish line,
00:24:39.166 --> 00:24:41.833
in this classic summer race.
00:24:41.833 --> 00:24:47.083
The finish line is officially closed.
00:25:29.416 --> 00:25:33.500
Sounds like the Toyotin
but it could be a smaller car.
00:25:51.583 --> 00:25:54.083
Toyotin!
00:27:27.875 --> 00:27:31.041
It's not as easy as they thought.
00:27:31.708 --> 00:27:35.375
Even if they try there's nothing here.
00:27:35.958 --> 00:27:39.791
Nothing grows in the desert.
00:27:40.291 --> 00:27:44.125
Life doesn't grow on dry land.
00:27:44.125 --> 00:27:48.125
Even if they water it, the
desert will never be green.
00:27:48.708 --> 00:27:51.333
That's the desert's nature.
00:27:52.458 --> 00:27:56.541
There's no use in keep on fighting,
00:27:56.541 --> 00:28:01.083
the fight won't make any difference.
00:28:19.250 --> 00:28:22.750
This valley remained forgotten.
00:28:23.416 --> 00:28:27.250
The glory stayed in the past.
00:28:27.666 --> 00:28:31.291
For an instant Davis wants
00:28:31.583 --> 00:28:35.416
to rejoin the great ones.
00:28:35.708 --> 00:28:39.041
They wanted to change their story.
00:28:39.958 --> 00:28:43.833
They know that's impossible now.
00:28:43.833 --> 00:28:48.041
They'll have to swallow their pride
00:28:48.041 --> 00:28:54.791
for a taste of victory.
00:29:19.958 --> 00:29:22.791
I would love to race a Baja 1000.
00:29:24.041 --> 00:29:26.500
Everybody wants that.
00:29:28.083 --> 00:29:30.875
But you have to be realistic.
00:29:30.875 --> 00:29:33.583
Sometimes you can,
sometimes you can't.
00:30:35.041 --> 00:30:37.916
Move!
00:30:39.458 --> 00:30:42.833
- It was gonna hit you, dude.
- Fuck!
00:30:42.833 --> 00:30:46.708
This race is a good example
00:30:47.458 --> 00:30:50.208
of how people are reckless.
00:30:52.916 --> 00:30:54.666
Here's this other one.
00:30:57.750 --> 00:31:00.583
I tell them:
00:31:00.583 --> 00:31:04.083
Keep your distance,
the car can run you over.
00:31:04.083 --> 00:31:06.958
If it runs you over,
what will you do next?
00:31:11.916 --> 00:31:13.541
Let's skip this one.
00:31:17.083 --> 00:31:20.750
Here's another one.
00:31:26.041 --> 00:31:29.791
What do you want to see?
Do you want to enjoy the race,
00:31:29.791 --> 00:31:32.958
or watch someone run into an accident?
00:31:33.583 --> 00:31:38.291
Because someone found it
fun to dig a whole,
00:31:38.291 --> 00:31:41.958
or a bump.... Facing
a car broken into pieces,
00:31:41.958 --> 00:31:44.291
you ask if they find this funny too.
00:31:44.291 --> 00:31:48.208
These people shouldn't be allowed in the sport.
00:31:48.208 --> 00:31:50.791
They give it a bad reputation.
00:31:50.833 --> 00:31:54.916
And can cause irreparable damages,
00:31:54.916 --> 00:31:59.375
that change how a pilot is remembered.
00:32:12.708 --> 00:32:15.416
Years ago, I lost someone to an accident.
00:32:15.416 --> 00:32:18.291
He was one of my best friends.
00:32:19.083 --> 00:32:22.250
For years I tried to stop him.
00:32:22.250 --> 00:32:26.583
But I understood that
we pursued the same dream.
00:32:26.583 --> 00:32:30.541
We wanted to race like everyone else.
00:32:31.000 --> 00:32:33.791
To run the world's most
difficult and dangerous race.
00:32:33.791 --> 00:32:35.708
Life is dangerous.
00:32:35.708 --> 00:32:37.958
If you live in fear...
00:32:37.958 --> 00:32:40.208
why live at all?
00:32:46.000 --> 00:32:48.916
It was like a bomb exploded in my head.
00:32:59.958 --> 00:33:02.541
The first star.
00:33:03.208 --> 00:33:06.375
Visible to us.
00:33:20.208 --> 00:33:22.541
Even in its early years,
00:33:23.666 --> 00:33:28.875
the city provided all
kinds of services.
00:33:28.875 --> 00:33:32.625
Our economy was strong.
- Very strong.
00:33:32.625 --> 00:33:34.791
- We sold the latest car models.
00:33:36.208 --> 00:33:38.125
That was during
the 'White Gold' fever.
00:33:38.125 --> 00:33:39.458
We were fine.
00:33:39.458 --> 00:33:42.916
- I remember El Che,
the brother of Cala.
00:33:42.916 --> 00:33:48.333
He organized an off road
across the ranches
00:33:48.333 --> 00:33:49.875
and ejidos around here.
00:33:49.875 --> 00:33:52.333
- The first races in Baja California Sur.
00:33:52.333 --> 00:33:55.666
I mean, the first Baja races
where here in Baja California Sur.
00:33:55.666 --> 00:33:58.250
We've told this to the gringos.
00:33:58.250 --> 00:34:01.041
In 1955 there was a race
00:34:01.041 --> 00:34:03.291
from San Jose del Cabo to
La Paz and back
00:34:03.291 --> 00:34:05.625
called La Terrisureña.
00:34:05.625 --> 00:34:08.666
- A priest blessed the cars
on the starting line,
00:34:09.708 --> 00:34:12.208
then followed them on an airplane
00:34:12.208 --> 00:34:15.375
to throw holly water at them!
- Don't lie!
00:34:16.666 --> 00:34:18.666
- The gringos didn't start
the races.
00:34:18.666 --> 00:34:20.500
- At least not in Baja.
00:34:20.500 --> 00:34:23.625
- Mexicans, and more specifically
Mexicans from Baja California, did.
00:34:25.541 --> 00:34:29.958
206 DAYS TO THE BAJA 1000
00:34:32.500 --> 00:34:35.666
I'm tired of this place.
00:34:36.208 --> 00:34:37.333
I want to leave to the city.
00:34:37.333 --> 00:34:39.250
I must think about my future.
00:34:40.041 --> 00:34:42.625
Finish my studies so I can leave.
00:34:43.416 --> 00:34:44.916
And find something better.
00:34:45.875 --> 00:34:48.833
We're almost on our own right now
00:34:48.833 --> 00:34:53.291
because there are no schools left.
00:34:53.291 --> 00:34:55.083
But we're still here.
00:34:55.083 --> 00:34:59.958
Very few of us remain.
00:35:01.208 --> 00:35:02.833
It's very quiet here.
00:35:02.833 --> 00:35:06.000
Except for the races.
00:35:07.750 --> 00:35:10.375
I do like the races.
00:35:10.375 --> 00:35:14.250
I don't like the dust they kick up.
00:35:14.250 --> 00:35:16.000
But that's inevitable.
00:35:16.000 --> 00:35:18.166
If only cars could fly.
00:35:19.416 --> 00:35:22.166
Right?
00:35:51.166 --> 00:35:54.166
Here's our plan to cover the Baja 1000:
00:35:54.166 --> 00:35:57.916
Dani and I will fly
00:35:57.958 --> 00:36:00.416
and capture the
starting line.
00:36:01.125 --> 00:36:04.500
Another friend will be in San Ignacio.
00:36:05.291 --> 00:36:09.625
He'll film what he can,
it will be night time.
00:36:10.458 --> 00:36:14.041
The rest of us will be in the South.
00:36:14.041 --> 00:36:17.291
Given that we are all from
here, from La Paz.
00:36:17.291 --> 00:36:19.916
Most can't travel far.
00:36:19.916 --> 00:36:23.291
The further spot is Loreto.
00:36:23.291 --> 00:36:26.708
We'll film what we can in the mountains.
00:36:26.708 --> 00:36:29.125
We'll get a couple of shots here.
00:36:29.125 --> 00:36:32.208
We don't know who's going there yet.
00:36:32.208 --> 00:36:35.708
My wife Army will be at the finish line.
00:36:35.708 --> 00:36:39.625
We have the area mostly covered.
00:36:41.583 --> 00:36:44.666
Let's see what comes out of this.
00:36:46.125 --> 00:36:48.125
We need a return on our investment.
00:36:49.000 --> 00:36:51.791
We spent all of our savings on this.
00:36:51.791 --> 00:36:55.333
Every penny that comes in
goes toward the Baja 1000.
00:37:53.875 --> 00:37:55.208
When I was a pilot,
00:37:55.208 --> 00:38:00.958
I monitored checkpoints twice.
00:38:00.958 --> 00:38:05.208
These are strategic stops
giving cars maintenance.
00:38:05.208 --> 00:38:09.833
Imagine that the cars arrive all damaged.
00:38:09.833 --> 00:38:13.625
You treat them as if they
had knocked on your door.
00:38:15.041 --> 00:38:18.041
We provide support to many pilots.
00:38:18.041 --> 00:38:21.791
They wouldn't finish the race without us.
00:38:22.125 --> 00:38:26.500
We store their gasoline, their
supplements, their food...
00:38:26.500 --> 00:38:30.500
And cheer them, they also need that.
00:38:36.958 --> 00:38:38.541
I'm here with you.
00:38:40.333 --> 00:38:42.500
You're awake.
00:38:43.541 --> 00:38:44.666
Wait.
00:38:50.208 --> 00:38:53.666
I'M A RESPONSIBLE FAN, ARE YOU?
00:39:03.250 --> 00:39:05.083
Lie down.
00:39:07.458 --> 00:39:09.875
In the future, I want people to tell her
00:39:10.458 --> 00:39:13.208
"your dad did good".
00:39:13.208 --> 00:39:15.875
That she feels proud of me.
00:39:15.875 --> 00:39:18.583
And knows that I worked hard to stop this.
00:39:19.041 --> 00:39:21.750
Many think I'm just a photographer.
00:39:21.750 --> 00:39:23.625
Or only a journalist,
00:39:23.625 --> 00:39:26.458
who knew how to do this job
without going to school.
00:39:27.291 --> 00:39:29.791
I gain a lot
00:39:29.791 --> 00:39:31.250
from this campaign.
00:39:31.250 --> 00:39:33.375
I take care of my friends,
00:39:33.375 --> 00:39:35.333
who are like my family.
00:39:39.875 --> 00:39:42.041
I meet new people,
00:39:42.041 --> 00:39:44.083
and make them understand
00:39:44.083 --> 00:39:46.125
that the off road too must be taken care of.
00:39:46.125 --> 00:39:47.583
And most importantly,
00:39:47.583 --> 00:39:50.041
that every race must be free of accidents.
00:40:37.458 --> 00:40:40.333
Brace yourselves, here they come.
00:40:40.333 --> 00:40:43.250
Even if the doors are shut,
00:40:43.250 --> 00:40:46.375
even if the hills grow dense,
00:40:46.791 --> 00:40:49.416
they'll make it through.
00:40:49.791 --> 00:40:53.000
Nearby the rattlesnakes shake,
00:40:53.000 --> 00:40:57.000
then hide at the sight of the machete.
00:41:00.958 --> 00:41:03.750
The road is no joke,
00:41:03.750 --> 00:41:07.000
and the Toyotin couldn't overcome it.
00:41:07.333 --> 00:41:10.291
Even if he can't pilot it anymore,
00:41:10.291 --> 00:41:13.541
Rigo will keep holding on.
00:41:13.541 --> 00:41:16.875
He will follow the monster closely,
00:41:16.875 --> 00:41:21.000
and will not stay put.
00:41:24.666 --> 00:41:27.750
Tired of watching them pass by,
00:41:27.750 --> 00:41:31.208
tired of biting the dust,
00:41:31.208 --> 00:41:34.458
they will try to tame the beast,
00:41:34.458 --> 00:41:37.375
even if they get into trouble.
00:41:37.375 --> 00:41:40.291
It doesn't matter if someone gets offended,
00:41:40.291 --> 00:41:46.291
they will do it, no matter the cost.
00:41:53.000 --> 00:41:57.208
37 DAYS TO THE BAJA 1000
00:41:58.375 --> 00:41:59.708
It's a party,
00:41:59.708 --> 00:42:02.583
an honor for us that
it passes through here.
00:42:02.583 --> 00:42:06.000
Because all of us enjoy the event.
00:42:06.625 --> 00:42:09.958
Some think otherwise.
00:42:09.958 --> 00:42:13.708
But 90%, almost 100%
00:42:13.708 --> 00:42:18.583
of us, are convinced that
it's a prestigious event
00:42:18.583 --> 00:42:21.000
with many economic benefits.
00:42:22.625 --> 00:42:25.875
For better or worse, we all benefit.
00:42:33.500 --> 00:42:38.291
I'm not a fan of the races.
00:42:38.291 --> 00:42:40.125
They leave garbage everywhere.
00:42:40.375 --> 00:42:42.541
The roads are destroyed.
00:42:43.333 --> 00:42:46.416
Always, as you can see.
00:42:46.916 --> 00:42:52.541
Spectactors left all that garbage.
00:42:53.708 --> 00:42:55.416
They just leave it there.
00:42:58.458 --> 00:43:00.333
After so many years, we are used to it.
00:43:00.541 --> 00:43:02.458
People look after their animals.
00:43:02.666 --> 00:43:04.416
Sometimes cars kill them.
00:43:04.791 --> 00:43:07.375
Often goats.
00:43:07.375 --> 00:43:09.375
They don't even pay for them.
00:43:26.375 --> 00:43:29.458
Did you check the Civil
Guard one and the other?
00:43:29.458 --> 00:43:30.791
- They're all in there.
00:43:29.500 --> 00:43:31.541
Here.
00:43:30.791 --> 00:43:32.500
I AM A RESPONSIBLE FAN
00:43:34.541 --> 00:43:37.958
I placed Bernie's picture here.
- Okay.
00:43:37.958 --> 00:43:41.625
- And all the text you sent me.
- Great.
00:43:42.125 --> 00:43:45.916
- Let's share broadly on social media.
00:43:45.916 --> 00:43:48.208
Coconuts, sea food...
00:43:49.791 --> 00:43:53.291
Isaias's picture... really cool!
00:43:58.708 --> 00:44:01.708
I brought you these.
00:44:01.833 --> 00:44:04.583
Can I paste them there?
- Go ahead.
00:44:04.583 --> 00:44:06.791
- What's your job?
- Sorry?
00:44:06.791 --> 00:44:08.208
- What do you do?
00:44:08.208 --> 00:44:11.083
- I'm a reporter and sports journalist.
00:44:11.083 --> 00:44:12.833
- Nice!
00:44:12.833 --> 00:44:15.333
- I also run a campaign for
responsable fanhood.
00:44:15.333 --> 00:44:17.458
To stop people from putting traps,
00:44:17.458 --> 00:44:20.083
so that they don't cut corners,
00:44:20.083 --> 00:44:22.375
and don't make ramps.
They're very dangerous.
00:44:22.375 --> 00:44:25.208
- It gets crowded here.
- Did you listen, boys?
00:44:25.208 --> 00:44:27.458
No rocks or ramps.
00:44:27.458 --> 00:44:31.000
- It's very dangerous.
- And don't take off the signs.
00:44:31.000 --> 00:44:35.000
- You can do what you
want with it after the race.
00:44:36.458 --> 00:44:38.958
Good afternoon!
00:44:38.958 --> 00:44:42.333
Excuse me. Can I put up
this prevention sign
00:44:42.333 --> 00:44:43.916
for the Baja 1000?
00:44:43.916 --> 00:44:46.375
It's a campaign to raise awareness.
00:44:46.375 --> 00:44:49.083
About precautions we
should take on the road.
00:44:49.333 --> 00:44:52.375
- Before the 45 km exit...
00:44:52.375 --> 00:44:55.875
Diego will be there, here's the map.
00:44:56.000 --> 00:45:00.208
- The way to Orcadita.
- I'm calling the cameraman tomorrow.
00:45:01.750 --> 00:45:06.250
- What about this cameraman?
These two will switch places.
00:45:07.666 --> 00:45:09.708
- Want your glasses?
- No.
00:45:09.708 --> 00:45:12.541
- He's embarrased!
00:45:18.875 --> 00:45:22.833
- Pardini, with a fixed camera,
00:45:23.375 --> 00:45:25.625
we'll be broadcasting there.
00:45:25.625 --> 00:45:28.000
- I understand better...
00:45:52.333 --> 00:45:54.791
Carlos!
00:45:56.791 --> 00:45:58.583
We are here.
00:45:58.583 --> 00:46:00.875
I'm on the route.
00:46:00.875 --> 00:46:04.291
I'm looking for places to set the pit stop.
00:46:08.041 --> 00:46:11.250
Just tell me when the things arrive.
00:46:11.250 --> 00:46:13.583
We're a few days away.
00:46:13.750 --> 00:46:15.625
Let me know when the fuel,
00:46:15.625 --> 00:46:19.250
wheels, food, and signs get here.
00:46:21.416 --> 00:46:23.250
The boys?
00:46:23.250 --> 00:46:25.541
Each team has a leader.
00:46:25.750 --> 00:46:27.333
And obviously
00:46:28.291 --> 00:46:30.500
they carry their equipment.
00:46:30.500 --> 00:46:33.000
Generators, welding machines...
00:46:33.416 --> 00:46:35.625
tents and lights...
00:46:36.083 --> 00:46:38.875
Everything's ready. Don't worry.
00:46:40.625 --> 00:46:42.791
Talk later.
00:46:49.333 --> 00:46:53.125
It's sad and shameful
that you need to see this.
00:46:53.125 --> 00:46:56.625
If someone hits this wall, it´ll be over.
00:46:56.625 --> 00:47:01.208
It's too deep and hard.
00:47:01.208 --> 00:47:03.875
This is unnecessary.
00:47:14.625 --> 00:47:16.791
This infuriates me.
00:47:18.083 --> 00:47:22.125
Cows eat signs.
00:47:22.125 --> 00:47:24.500
But they don't shred a sign like this.
00:47:25.750 --> 00:47:28.500
These take ten
minutes to put up.
00:47:28.500 --> 00:47:31.541
All this work and travel lost.
00:47:31.541 --> 00:47:34.125
All that time I didn't spend with my family...
00:47:34.125 --> 00:47:36.041
To have someone nonchalantly take it,
00:47:36.791 --> 00:47:39.083
and rip it apart.
00:49:38.625 --> 00:49:42.291
We're four days away.
00:49:44.458 --> 00:49:47.791
It promises to be a
beautiful place for the race.
00:49:51.833 --> 00:49:54.541
The emotion we'll sink in once it has begun.
00:50:12.958 --> 00:50:14.833
That's strange. It's getting cloudy.
00:50:16.750 --> 00:50:18.125
Do you see it?
00:50:18.625 --> 00:50:21.208
The clouds are stretching.
00:50:21.208 --> 00:50:23.666
From here all the way there.
00:50:24.041 --> 00:50:27.208
It must be beautiful here during a hurricane.
00:50:28.791 --> 00:50:31.750
When the wind howls, hold on to what you can.
00:50:32.833 --> 00:50:34.375
This is Med Mex, South Baja California.
00:50:34.375 --> 00:50:37.333
Stay tuned for a precise forecast
00:50:37.333 --> 00:50:41.208
on the tropical storm Lidia.
00:50:42.250 --> 00:50:48.250
Lidia is keeping us at home,
00:50:48.250 --> 00:50:53.375
worried and deeply concerned.
00:50:53.375 --> 00:50:59.791
It's making it pour
00:50:59.791 --> 00:51:04.125
across Baja California Sur.
00:51:04.125 --> 00:51:08.333
We're receiving a report over the phone.
00:51:08.333 --> 00:51:12.208
We're linked to the news base in Los Cabos.
00:51:12.208 --> 00:51:16.375
School is cancelled throughout the state.
00:51:16.375 --> 00:51:20.791
Classes will start again on Monday
00:51:20.791 --> 00:51:25.625
on those schools and colleges
00:51:25.625 --> 00:51:28.000
currently being used as shelters
00:51:28.000 --> 00:51:31.916
and for child assistance.
00:51:31.916 --> 00:51:34.875
All activities are suspended
00:51:34.875 --> 00:51:41.541
in La Paz and Los Cabos until Friday.
00:52:20.041 --> 00:52:23.833
Breaking the silence, the storm arrived.
00:52:25.958 --> 00:52:30.250
The roars are loud, rumble down the highland.
00:52:32.416 --> 00:52:34.833
You feel the adrenaline.
00:52:35.500 --> 00:52:38.333
They are brave enough to stay.
00:52:38.750 --> 00:52:41.750
But none is strong enough
00:52:41.750 --> 00:52:44.916
to face this giant.
00:52:49.833 --> 00:52:54.125
A hurricane in front of you,
to fight it you must be the strongest.
00:52:55.958 --> 00:53:00.208
Sweeping hills away, nobody can tame it.
00:53:02.083 --> 00:53:05.000
Big and wide is the desert,
00:53:05.416 --> 00:53:08.208
and so is the hurricane.
00:53:08.500 --> 00:53:11.458
Find something to hold on to
00:53:11.833 --> 00:53:15.250
because you're stuck in the eye of the storm.
00:53:19.375 --> 00:53:23.375
Only the crazy remain, and you're left inside.
00:53:25.708 --> 00:53:29.541
Show them what you're made of,
your tale depends on it.
00:53:31.875 --> 00:53:34.666
Hold on tight and decide.
00:53:35.166 --> 00:53:37.833
Now is your moment.
00:53:38.208 --> 00:53:41.083
You have to risk it all,
00:53:41.500 --> 00:53:45.541
if you don't want to end up dead.
00:54:09.958 --> 00:54:13.833
45 HOURS TO THE BAJA 1000
00:54:19.583 --> 00:54:22.000
Where's the damned vest?
00:54:36.541 --> 00:54:38.083
Batteries...
00:54:38.875 --> 00:54:41.958
- Dani! Did you print
the boarding passes?
00:54:41.958 --> 00:54:42.708
- Yes
00:54:46.333 --> 00:54:49.041
HAVE A NICE TRIP
00:55:02.666 --> 00:55:07.541
THERE ARE DREAMS ON THIS SIDE TOO
00:56:43.041 --> 00:56:46.750
Let's tie these.
00:56:49.583 --> 00:56:54.125
We're missing a box and
some tools, can you look for them?
00:57:06.791 --> 00:57:09.833
Pit 18, do you copy?
00:57:42.625 --> 00:57:47.291
If we fall asleep, we miss them.
00:57:47.291 --> 00:57:48.833
We will broadcast the first cars.
00:57:48.833 --> 00:57:51.750
We'll take pauses.
00:57:51.750 --> 00:57:54.500
We have chargers and data.
00:57:54.500 --> 00:57:58.625
Hope these will last till midday tomorrow.
00:57:58.625 --> 00:58:01.666
We'll resume when the next moto arrives.
00:58:01.666 --> 00:58:04.333
Stay tuned and share this widely
00:58:04.333 --> 00:58:08.166
with family, friends, acquaintances,
even your pets if you can.
00:58:08.166 --> 00:58:09.708
Cheers!
00:58:13.750 --> 00:58:16.833
You look traumatized.
00:58:16.833 --> 00:58:18.875
- You pointed the light righ at me.
00:58:18.875 --> 00:58:22.833
- I can't see just using the phone.
- Nevertheless...
00:58:23.791 --> 00:58:26.750
Post it.
00:58:27.166 --> 00:58:30.583
- I'll trade you a cigarrette for a beer.
00:58:30.583 --> 00:58:37.333
(Interference)
00:58:39.708 --> 00:58:42.500
Use this channel to cover the race only.
00:58:44.041 --> 00:58:46.500
- Stop messing around.
00:58:47.750 --> 00:58:49.625
- Underpants mouth!
00:58:51.375 --> 00:58:53.041
- Without bra!
00:58:53.041 --> 00:58:54.333
They're so annoying.
00:58:54.333 --> 00:58:55.750
- Without underwear!
00:58:56.625 --> 00:58:57.833
- Without shoes!
00:58:58.416 --> 00:59:00.958
Stop using the radio for personal things.
00:59:00.958 --> 00:59:02.416
(Inaudible)
00:59:25.500 --> 00:59:27.416
- Good evening!
00:59:33.416 --> 00:59:35.458
- Is the sand here thin?
- Yes, it's very pretty.
00:59:35.458 --> 00:59:38.416
- The other side is ugly, but here's fine.
00:59:38.750 --> 00:59:41.333
- Are people camping there?
- Yes.
00:59:41.333 --> 00:59:44.750
- Campers have set their tents everywhere.
00:59:47.333 --> 00:59:48.625
Damn.
00:59:51.458 --> 00:59:52.750
Where should we stay?
01:00:25.250 --> 01:00:28.291
The green box, then the drill.
01:00:30.833 --> 01:00:33.291
I left it up there.
01:00:34.458 --> 01:00:37.250
- Fuck...
- You're very nervous, bro.
01:00:37.958 --> 01:00:39.500
- It doesn't fit.
01:00:39.500 --> 01:00:42.166
Hold this and connect it.
01:00:42.166 --> 01:00:44.625
- I'm holding it now.
01:00:47.458 --> 01:00:50.208
Pit 20 to 19, do you copy?
01:00:56.666 --> 01:01:00.166
Pit 19 to 20, do you have signal?
01:01:00.166 --> 01:01:03.083
- Let's see.
- It's not working.
01:01:03.083 --> 01:01:04.958
- Take this back.
- No, no.
01:01:05.083 --> 01:01:07.500
20 to 19...
01:01:11.416 --> 01:01:14.958
Can't even reach them by satellite phone.
01:01:37.166 --> 01:01:43.000
Someone got ran over and is at the hospital.
01:01:44.041 --> 01:01:47.541
Hey bro, how bad was the accident?
01:01:47.541 --> 01:01:49.166
Was it at the finish line or before?
01:01:50.083 --> 01:01:52.416
They haven't reported anything yet.
01:01:53.708 --> 01:01:56.291
A person was hit at the finish line.
01:01:57.208 --> 01:02:01.750
Apparently there was an accident at the finish line.
01:02:01.750 --> 01:02:03.958
Involving a motorcycle.
01:02:04.500 --> 01:02:07.875
Paco Aguiar will broadcast it now.
01:02:08.750 --> 01:02:11.458
- How was it?
- A person died.
01:02:11.458 --> 01:02:13.250
She was crossing the road
01:02:13.250 --> 01:02:16.083
and was hit by a car going over 100 mph.
01:02:18.708 --> 01:02:20.541
They will confirm soon.
01:02:20.541 --> 01:02:22.166
If this happened or not...
01:02:22.166 --> 01:02:23.750
I hope not.
01:03:03.000 --> 01:03:06.875
- He just passed Ramaditas.
- Here he comes.
01:03:06.875 --> 01:03:09.208
We'll see the lights on the road.
01:03:11.500 --> 01:03:14.166
We should put tape on it when we unload it.
01:06:45.125 --> 01:06:50.541
365 DAYS TO THE BAJA 1000
01:07:19.458 --> 01:07:21.625
The accident happened regardless
01:07:21.625 --> 01:07:24.833
of an intense campaign by our organization
01:07:24.833 --> 01:07:27.458
and the authorities to prevent people
01:07:27.458 --> 01:07:31.416
from getting too close to the cars.
01:07:32.000 --> 01:07:35.666
It says it here: the girl crossed the road.
01:07:36.000 --> 01:07:38.625
And among all that dust... It's hard.
01:07:45.041 --> 01:07:49.500
I AM A RESPONSABLE FAN, ARE YOU?
01:08:21.416 --> 01:08:23.583
Number four!
01:08:23.583 --> 01:08:27.833
We're with Jose Luis Torres, the champion,
and Luis Rene Beltran.
01:08:27.833 --> 01:08:32.500
In the 100 A! Position number 7.
01:08:33.416 --> 01:08:38.250
Giovanni Marquez in the 195A, El Berraco.
01:08:38.250 --> 01:08:40.750
Giovanni Marquez, El Berraco in 7th
01:08:40.750 --> 01:08:42.833
And the champion Jose Luis Torres with Rene.
01:08:42.833 --> 01:08:47.458
Now the rookies' category!
01:10:20.750 --> 01:10:24.500
It's not pretty and has few attractions.
01:10:25.125 --> 01:10:27.625
We live at the center of the peninsula,
01:10:27.625 --> 01:10:30.166
57 km from the sea,
01:10:30.833 --> 01:10:33.250
60 km from the Gulf.
01:10:33.250 --> 01:10:37.083
Here you have... your friends.
01:10:37.166 --> 01:10:39.416
That's important. And your family.
01:10:39.416 --> 01:10:43.166
Your roots... I was born here,
and I'll stay here.
01:11:16.125 --> 01:11:18.208
Press it.
01:11:19.333 --> 01:11:21.750
With your hand.
01:11:27.541 --> 01:11:29.833
Should we go to sleep?
01:11:45.666 --> 01:11:47.125
Where's the sun?
01:12:15.791 --> 01:12:18.583
Its charred.
01:12:56.166 --> 01:12:58.958
- There?
- There.
01:13:23.833 --> 01:13:27.166
And the race begins!
01:13:27.166 --> 01:13:31.333
The cars take off in this Coyote 300.
01:13:31.333 --> 01:13:35.250
The Toyotin returns,
01:13:35.250 --> 01:13:37.875
the powerful 1469!
01:13:37.875 --> 01:13:41.250
Ex champion of the class 14,
01:13:41.958 --> 01:13:45.250
now piloted by Daniela Castro.
01:13:45.250 --> 01:13:48.458
The Rigo Videos family's second generation.
01:13:48.458 --> 01:13:50.791
Behind the steering wheel,
01:13:50.791 --> 01:13:53.375
ready for this new race.
01:14:41.875 --> 01:14:43.708
Play it.
01:15:06.666 --> 01:15:10.583
I'm rebellious and proud.
01:15:10.583 --> 01:15:14.583
Poor but refined.
01:15:14.958 --> 01:15:18.833
I don't forget where I'm from.
01:15:18.833 --> 01:15:23.458
I love you, my little ranch.
01:15:28.958 --> 01:15:32.875
No matter how far I go,
01:15:32.875 --> 01:15:35.625
I remember you every single day.
01:15:36.958 --> 01:15:40.666
Those beautiful landscapes,
01:15:41.125 --> 01:15:45.291
and eternal sunsets.
01:15:50.791 --> 01:15:54.583
I'm a man of the land,
01:15:55.000 --> 01:15:59.541
I am who I am, that's my pride.
01:15:59.541 --> 01:16:03.375
Even if we don't always win,
01:16:03.375 --> 01:16:07.333
it is a triumph to be a part of you.
01:16:07.333 --> 01:16:11.041
A thousand places in the world,
01:16:11.041 --> 01:16:16.458
nothing compares to my ranch.
01:16:17.666 --> 01:16:19.375
That was spot on.
01:16:19.375 --> 01:16:21.083
It's cool...
- There it is.
01:16:21.083 --> 01:16:23.375
We should finish it.
